One of the key wedding receptions is whether or not to have wedding favors.
Wedding favors can clearly be a vital part of a reception since they say to guests,
"you are special to us." One of the key ways to offer favors to guests is by
making us of favor boxes. Favors boxes are decorative containers that can be used
to put favors in. This article is designed to provide advice, tips, and
suggestions for how to use favor boxes for a wedding reception.
Many guests use favor boxes to denote that the favors are for guests. The boxes
are used as containers and often people fill the boxes with candy. Typically
these candies are chocolate covered nuts, minds, or some other candy. Often the
boxes will be filled with a small handful of candy (5 to 20 items). This box is
then placed on the table in front of each guest. Often the boxes are denoted with
a bibbon or a personalized message indicating that they are for guests. This way
the guests know to take them home with them and understand that they are a gift
from the couple.
Another popular item to fill a favor box with is candles. Candles are often a
better choice than candy, since many guests may not eat candy or nuts. Some
guests may even be alergic to nuts and may not be able to eat them. Candles,
however, are usually appreciated by both men and women. Typically, when candles
are boxed, there will be one candle in a box and there will be box decorations
that denote that the box is a favor for guests. Candles are also quite usable,
but provide a more lasting reminder of the wedding day than candy or nuts.
Moreover, guests seem to appreciate boxed candle favors since they do show a good
deal of planing and thought.
The final area to look at is the box decorations. Many people choose to use plain
boxes because they are cost effective and easy to procure. The key to the box is
it needs to denote that the favor is a gift for the guests; especially if the box
is on the table and there are a lot of other items on the table. The box needs to
make it clear to guests that the favors are for them. Many people with plain boxes
choose to keep their favors on a special favor table near the door guarded by an
attendant. Boxes taht will remain on the table should be decorated with either a
ribbon, a tag, or both. This way the guys will see that the favors are a gift for
them.
