If you were planning a wedding that is more relaxed, you would want to choose wedding favors that are natural. For instance, the bride that wants lots of flowers, and an elegant yet natural and almost simplistic wedding, or for the couple that chooses to get married in a garden setting, the nature-type favors are perfect. Okay, so what constitutes a nature favor?
A great example, especially for springtime or garden weddings is to set a lovely white box that has been ordained or stenciled with flowers at each place setting. Inside, the guests would find a pair of tulip bulbs to take home and plant. In addition to having gorgeous flowers, they will be reminded of your special day each spring when their tulips blossom. Be sure that a slip of paper is included in the box, providing planting and care instructions.
Another great idea is to have fresh Hawaiian Leis made. Traditionally, the Lei represent hospitality and good luck. Therefore, this would be an excellent favor for your guests. At the end of the wedding ceremony, you could ask a family member or friend to stand at the end of the receiving line and as each person passes through, they are lovingly gifted with a gorgeous favor.
Purchase cellophane or vellum bags in the color of your choice and then fill each with Forget-Me-Not or Sweet Pea flower seeds. Slip a card with planting and care instructions, and then tie each bag with a beautiful colored ribbon. Your guests will love the thought of this favor and appreciate the flowers even more when the sprout in the spring.
You can find wonderful miniature clay pots at most hobby stores. Fill each pot with flower seeds and then tie ribbon around the ridge. If you or someone you know has an artistic flair, hand paint a flower on each of the pots that matches the type of seed chosen. For instance, if you have filled the pot with sunflower seeds, then either paint or stencil a bright yellow sunflower on the pot. If the seeds are Peonies, then have a Peony designed on the pot.
Many different charities sell tangible items as a way of raising money. For instance, a historical structure being restored may sell bricks that are acknowledged with the buyers name or a park may be planting trees and bushes that again are named after the buyer. Therefore, you could purchase a gift for a local charity and do it in your guests honor.
Finally, why not buy your guests a sapling. Many nurseries will sell what is called a Tree in a Tube or you can order them online. Surprisingly, the price is no more than you would spend on other favors and your guests will take home something that will last a lifetime. The nature favors are fun since there are so many options from which to choose. Your guests will be thrilled with the favor and know that you put love and care into choosing each one.
