Wedding favors are always lovely sitting at each place setting at the reception, but to make them truly memorable, you should personalize them. Many ways are available to make each one a momento of your big day that will be appreciated and admired by your guests for many years to come.
If you have chosen votive candles, small boxes of chocolates or some other trinket that is packaged, consider adding a custom tag to each one that has the brides and grooms names and the day and date of the wedding. You can either have these printed professionally or do them yourself. If you have a computer with a wide range of fonts, you may be able to print the tags in an elegant script on vellum paper for an elegant look.
Monograms are also popular. Consider having your new monogram etched or stenciled onto the side of the votive candles, or seal boxes with a strand of ribbon and sealing wax pressed with your initials. A short, personal note that you and your groom compose together is a thoughtful gesture that will garner compliments. It does not need to be elaborate or long. Simply a few words thanking them for sharing in your day, along with your signatures, is perfect. If you are creative, consider writing it in verse. If you are not, you can choose a favorite line of poetry or the verse of a meaningful song to capture the day.
If you choose homemade favors like your sisters special fudge, put them in favor boxes that are embossed with your names, and then tie them with ribbons that match your bridesmaids gowns or your wedding flowers. Do you and your spouse share a special interest such as classical music? Cookies in the shape of a treble clef would be a romantic salute to your shared passion. Did you fall in love at the zoo? Tiny wooden animals can be great place card holders.
When you are choosing favors and personalizing them, keep in mind what aspects of your personality and your new partners personality make you a unique as a couple. Use this as inspiration for personaized treats for your guests.
