Although there are many different types of wedding favors from which to choose, one that you know each of your guests will enjoy are flowers. You can choose actual plants, plant containers, potpourri recipes, and so on, while keeping with the flower theme. If you were having a garden wedding, this would be the ideal choice although flower-wedding favors would go beautifully with any wedding. Here are a few recommendations:
- Flower Bulbs Check some of the mail order companies on the Internet where you can choose from hundreds of options at amazing prices. During the springtime, your guests can plant the bulbs and each year as the flower blooms, they will think of you. Simply wrap two or three bulbs in cellophane and tie with ribbon. Attach a note to the ribbon that identifies the types of bulbs with quick planting instructions.
- Long-Stem Silk Rose The silk roses of today are so realistic it is hard to tell them from the real thing. In fact, you can find roses that actually have what appear to be droplets of morning dew on the petals. Wrap a silk rose with ribbon, attach a special note of sentiment, and place one rose at each place setting.
- Daisies Daisies are a sweet and simple flower that is elegant in its own way. You can create small pouches using pieces of toile and wrap daisy seeds along with a small card of planting instructions. Tied off with a ribbon that has the bride and grooms name and date of the wedding adds a special touch.
- Wildflowers Purchase miniature terra cotta pots from your local hobby store and using craft paint, write the date of the wedding on the bottom. Then on the sides or rim, create different designs. Inside the pot, add several packets of wildflowers such as Black-Eyed Susans, Daisies, Peonies, and other beautiful flowers. Neatly tuck a hand-written poem inside with the flowers and place at each place setting.
- Sapling Trees This gift is inexpensive and something unique. You can uy these small trees in tubes for a reasonable price. Simply use raffia ribbon to decorate the tube and then offer one to each guest. They can plant the tree and think of you as it grows and blossoms.
- Miniature Potted Plants or Cacti These can be purchased at garden or hobby stores for about $3.00 each. The miniature size is perfect and you will find a huge selection of flowers from which to choose.
- Green Bottles Find some old green bottles, which can actually be purchased for less than $2.00 at your local hobby store and place a real daisy or rose in each. These will add a nice touch at the reception and the guests will enjoy taking them home to keep replacing with fresh flowers.
- Teacups For a formal wedding, a dainty teacup and saucer filled with various types of flower seeds makes the perfect favor.
