Today's brides are no longer required to carry the traditional flower
bouquet. The current options are limitless, providing just about
anything imaginable. Starting with your corsages and boutonnieres,
you want a flower that will show your appreciation. These flowers will
be given to the mothers, wedding attendants, family, and even close
friends. A nice touch would be to provide a corsage or boutonniere to
the vocalists, readers, and musicians as well.
When it comes to bouquets, the hand-tied style is one that has grown
dramatically in popularity. This type of bouquet is made from fresh-cut
flowers, also known as poppy style, offering a simple look of elegance.
This style appears as having just been handpicked from a garden. Another
wonderful option is choosing a type of flower that has some sentimental
purpose. For example, musk rose, lisianthus, and sweet peas all offer a
unique look and fragrance, giving your bouquet a special touch.
Just as your bouquet should be breathtaking, it should also provide a sweet,
lingering fragrance. Flowers best for this are gardenias, hibiscus, peonies,
tuberoses, and stephanotis. Another popular choice remains the traditional
bouquet designed of all white. In this case, orchids or lily of the valley
are ideal choices and are arranged in a romantic style, often cradled gently
in the arm. A new trend is what is called a champagne wedding. In this
scenario, the bride and the entire wedding party carry all white flowers,
with amazing fragrance. In contrast, from the champagne wedding, you can
choose brightly colored flowers in rich colors such as purple, blue, red, or
burgundy.
For a contemporary wedding, a modern bouquet would be appropriate. One style
that has become increasingly popular in the past few years is a bouquet
designed with large yellow sunflowers, or a posy bouquet that features a
variety of dainty, colorful flowers. If you have chosen a Victorian wedding,
you want flowers that are soft and romantic. Good choices in this case would
be small, pastel flowers, delicately accented with baby's breath. Be sure to
work with a qualified florist that can take your wedding colors, wedding gown,
and personal preference to blend them together to create the perfect wedding
bouquet.
