A wedding updo refers to the hairstyle the bride has her hair done in.
When it comes time to choose the right style, you will discovery many
options that are perfect for short, shoulder-length, or long hair. To
enhance your hair updo, you can choose from hair sticks to anchor the
hairstyle, or some other form of elegant hair jewelry. You will want
the wedding updo to compliment your wedding dress and style of wedding.
The wedding updos need to be done by a professional hairstylist since
they are complex and not a hairstyle you could create easily yourself.
The Bun updo is achieved by coiling the hair into a traditional bun.
However, for this style, "stitching" is created with the bun to the hair
against the head by using a unique in and out sewing motion as you take
the hair sticks and insert them in a crossed design. The Bun is more
controllable if you use a neutral ponytail holder first and then twist
the hair, making it coil naturally.
The Braided Bun is ideal for long hair and is created by starting with a
traditional English bun. You will then catch the ends into a small
ponytail holder and follow the same process as the Bun although the ends
are tucked underneath the coil prior to the hair sticks being added. This
is a beautiful style perfect for a formal wedding.
Another sophisticated hairstyle that can be worked with a variety of hair
types although it is not the best for long or thick hair is the Classic
French Twist, which has been around for a long time. This hairstyle is
timeless and created by fastening the hair in a ponytail holder and then
dividing it into three sections. Grasp the hair in a ponytail at the base
of the neck and twist it toward the left several times. Slowly swing the
ponytail upward to the right using the twisting motion until a roll has
been created at the back of the head. Continue twisting the hair all the
way to the ends and then fold the remaining ponytail back down. Finally,
tuck it under the roll. You will need to use several hair sticks going
down the edge of the roll to "sew" the roll into place. This is an
exceptional hairstyle that is one of the most commonly chosen.
These are just a few options for wedding updos. Just remember that your
hair will be your main feature. The style chosen will either enhance or
take away from your overall appearance. Therefore, you will want to choose
a style that works well with your veil and dress. On the day of the wedding,
you will need to go to the beauty parlor where the hairstylist can work magic.
