Having a gorgeous white smile makes a person feel confident. Your wedding day is the perfect time to have your teeth whitened. Since you will be smiling from the minute that you wake up and for a long time after, you want your smile to be radiant. Unfortunately, not everyone has beautiful white teeth and the cost of having veneers is expensive. However, new methods now make it possible for both the bride and groom to have their teeth white and bright on this special day and for life without spending a fortune.

Laser Bleaching

This option is excellent and very popular. Also known as Gas Plasma, you will see dramatic results in one hour, the time of the session. For this to work, light reacts to a special solution of peroxide bleaching. Depending on where you go to have it done, you can expect to pay from $500 to $2,000. However, the results are worth every cent. Your teeth will be an amazing five to eight shades whiter that will last from two to five years. Keep in mind that if you are a smoker or coffee or wine drinker, you may need more than one treatment, although not usually. To have this done, you can visit your dentist or a teeth-bleaching center. Plan having this procedure done about a week before your wedding as some people have a mild sensitivity in their teeth for a few days. Insurance seldom covers this cost but for a great smile, you will be thrilled that you had this procedure done.

Regular Bleaching

Sometimes referred to as Chair-side bleaching, this costs less but requires a little more time. This works by using a large concentration of peroxide solution. Your dentist may or may not use a mouth tray and light source but either way, the results are about the same. The cost of this is about $500 to $1,000 and you can expect to undergo two 45 or 60-minute sessions. After you arrive home, you will probably be put on a home treatment that follows for about a week. You will notice your teeth whitening one to three shades that usually last one to three years. Again, if you are a smker or coffee or wine drinker, it could take more treatments. For this procedure, it would be best to have it done about four to six weeks before your wedding day.

At Home Bleaching

Currently on the market, you will find many at-home bleaching options. Some work better than others and while the price is significantly lower, the results vary although you will notice some whitening. Just remember for this to work, you need to be religiously faithful in using the treatment. The kits will include a kit with a mouth tray that has been fitted first by your dentist or one that can be boiled to soften and then when held it in your mouth, it will create a form to your mouth. The solution contains a bleaching solution of about 15%. Used daily, in about two to four months, you will notice a nice difference. To get an at-home system, you can expect to pay from $100 to $200.

Bleaching strips are also available from major companies. These too work but you have to follow the treatment or it will not work. The price on these strips is reasonable and you can expect to see one to two shades whiter. None of these options is generally covered by insurance but this is your wedding and you are worth looking your best.
