When you enter a church or other type of building to attend a wedding, what is the first thing you notice the flowers. Wedding flowers are a direct reflection of the bride and grooms style and personality. If you are preparing for your own wedding, you want them to be magnificent. As you stand there saying your vows, you will be surrounded by friends and family, surrounded by a gorgeous setting of flowers.
To create a fairytale wedding, a magical moment with flowers, you might consider placing flowers on the floor down the aisle for a welcoming pathway of color. Another excellent idea is to create a path of red Rose petals and on the outside aisles, have soft candles stands that are wrapped with ivy or some other type of vine. If you are planning an outdoor or garden-type wedding, you can create the same magical atmosphere by using sft pink Rose petals scattered down the aisle.
Other arrangements for the altar include what are called freestanding arrangements, which are placed at the front of the church. These consist of large vases that sit atop columns. The flowers are often large and dramatic, mixed with a few smaller flowers and lots of flowing greenery. In the past few years, these arrangements have become quite popular. Their design adds a special touch to any wedding, creating a romantic scene.
Another excellent option for ceremony flowers is the arch, which has been a part of the traditional wedding for many years. These are often made from white lattice, intertwined with ribbon, vines, lace, fabric, or flowers. Attached to the exterior of the arch you can add fragrant Jasmine, Peonies, Daffodils, or any type of flower you like. Many arches can be rented that also have votive candleholders, giving the front of the church a soft, glow, perfect for the start of the wedding ceremony.
You want your ceremony flowers to be beautiful but also fragrant. You want all of the arrangements to fill the church with a sweet aroma that adds to this magical day. Some of the best choices for this include Gardenias, Lilac, Roses, and Honeysuckle. Then, to soften the flowers, you can use vines that gently wind through the various arrangements. The types of vines that are excellent include honeysuckle, potato, and ivy.
From the minute your guests arrive, you want them to be greeted with beautifully designed floral arrangements. Be sure to add flowers to the entrance area or foyer, guest book area, and all the way down the aisle to the seats. Although you generally pay as much as 15% of your budget on flowers, a wedding without them would be miserable. Therefore, the expense is worth it when you see the stage set for your romantic wedding ceremony.
