The recessional is the music that is played when the key participants leave the sanctuary or the wedding ceremony location. They typically leave one by one and a song plays as the wedding participants are leaving. Typically, the recessional is a happy occasion as the bride and groom are now man and wife. Most wedding participants tend to choose happy or festive music for this portion of the ceremony. This part of the ceremony can also be majestic like the processional, however it is usually somewhat more subdued.
