San Diego, CA:
San Diego is a city that has some of the best weather in the United States.
Temperatures are not too hot in the summer and not too cold in the winter.
The temperature ranges from about 65 to 80 degrees Farenheit all year round.
The city also sees more than its share of sunshine. A big attraction in San
Diego is the beaches and the water. La Jolla and Coronado are both excellent
beaches and San Diego also has numerous activities like jet skiing, boating,
and surfing. The Harbor area of San Diego is nice and the Gaslamp quarter
features a number of restaurants and hotels. In the area around San Diego,
there are mountains to the East and numerous hiking locations. The city
itself is less than 20 miles from the Mexican border so the adventurous may
want to go down to Baja California for the day.
Jackson Hole, WY:
Jackson Hole is a small town in northwestern Wyoming that is an excellent
place for the outdoor couple or just a quiet place to get away. Surrounded
by jagged mountains, Jackson Hole is the perfect secluded spot. The town is
just 30 minutes away from the south side of Yellowstone National park and
high in elevation. The rugged Grand Teton mountains to the west provide an
excellent view and great hiking. The nearby areas also featue abundant
wildlife and sights along with great skiing in the winter. If you are
planning on visiting Jackson Hole in the winter, be prepared for extremely
cold weather due to the town's high elevation. Summertimes are cool and the
several bed and breakfasts in the area make Jackson Hole an excellent
honeymoon spot during the summer months.
Santa Barbara, CA:
Santa Barbara is located near the edge of what people call Southern California.
About an hour an a half north of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara provides the feeling
of being in an out of the way place with the comforts of a small city. Santa
Barbara has the same sun an temperate weather that is unique to southern California.
The city is located right near an excellent beach and large mountains overlook the
city to the west (10 minutes outside the city). The main street of Santa Barbara
has a lot of quaint shops and places to eat - it is a nice place to take an evening
stroll. The Santa Barbara pier also has some excellent restaurants. If you are
looking for a little more adventure, you can take a drive down the coastline or into
the mountains.
New Orleans, LA:
New Orleans is a city known for its unique culture and party like atmosphere during
Marti Gras. The city is alive with color and things to do in the evenings. While
new Orleans itself is not that out of the way and secluded, there are a lot of places
to stay just outside of the city. For a meal or adventure, a couple could come into
the city to browse, walk, eat or just explore. The food in New Orlean is Cajun and
the city's proximity to the harbor make it an excellent location to get seafood.
Other activities that are unique to New Orleans are the swamp tours in boats (not
receommended unless you are adventureous), Marti Gras, and the French Quarter.
