When you are thinking about planning your wedding or honeymoon, there are a
number of factors to keep in mind. One of the most important factors,
however can be the weather. While you can't control the weather when you go
on your honeymoon, there are a number of things that you can do to ensure
that you have the best chance of getting the weather that you desire. You
can do this by studying the weather patterns and planning to visit during
period that historically have had better weather. Although this is no
guarentee, this does tend to increase your chances. This article is
intended to be a guide that provides an overview of the best times to visit
certain locations based on weather.
Different parts of the world can have differnt patterns. Clearly, if you
are considering visiting the southern hemisphere, one thing to consider
is that if it is winter here, it will be summer there. If you are thinking
about visiting an area close to the equator, the weather is usually pretty
similar almost all year round. The winter months are usually the most
temperate of the months to visit these equatorial regions. Europe has
seasonal changes that occur at roughly the same time as the US. If it is
nice here, it will generally be nice there. Finally, there are a number of
islands and coastal regios that are highly influenced by ocean currents and
seasonal winds. San Diego is one of these cities, the cool ocean current
keeps the city temperate all year round.
Another thing to think about is the prescense of hazardous weather.
Hurricane season affects the Carribean and some areas of the South Pacific
during the late spring and sumemr months. If you plan on traveling during
these months, be prepared for possible travel delays or cancellations that
can arise. Obviously during winter months snow, ice, and cold can snarl
traffic and cause significant travel delays. If you plan on traveling in
the winter stay tuned to the latest weather forecasts.
The chart below provides a snapshot of some of the best times to visit a
couple of popular locations. This chart is based on most people's weather
preferences (a dislike of hot/ humid and snow / cold). Obviously, if you
like these conditions, the chart may not provide you with your view of the
"best weather."
