When getting married, you want your wedding photographs to be unique and something that the entire family will cherish for life. While you still want a professional photographer to capture magical moments from your wedding, you can do some things personally to help enhance those photographs.

A great idea is to give both the bride and grooms party several disposable cameras. As both the bride and groom are preparing for the big day, primping, fixing hair, looking nervous, ask the wedding party to take pictures so you and your new spouse can share the joy of the entire day. Just imagine the laughs and joy you will have as you see what the other person was going through before the ceremony.

Another great idea is to take the special photographs of the before wedding, during wedding, and reception pictures taken by both professional photographer and friends and create a magnificent slide show. Then, invite family, close friends and the wedding party over for a casual barbecue and show the pictures. Everyone will love them.

You can also take your engagement photograph and have it blown up into a huge photo, matted on cardstock. Then in the foyer of the church, display the matted photo where each guest upon arrival can add his or her own special comment and signature. After the wedding, you can have the photo framed and hung in your home.

Another great idea is to have copies made of the photographs that show special moments of each member of the wedding party and then create a specialized album with those photos just for them. You can add in a few photos of the entire wedding party but try to keep it personalized. You can be sure they will cherish this gift.

One bride had an excellent idea. She had hundreds of photographs from all of the disposable cameras and had not idea what to do with them after everyone had looked at them. She gathered her bridal party months after the wedding and they all took a quilting class where they made a photo quilt, using some of the photos. Not only did they have a blast together but also the bride ended up with a special quilt that she could save and one-day share with her own children. This would make an excellent family tradition.

The key with your wedding is to think of ideas that will get everyone involved. When people feel as though they are contributing and participating, the atmosphere is much more festive and fun.
