Weddings and Money

|
Many couples getting married choose the springtime or the traditional summer wedding. If you want to bring a little nuance to your wedding and save money, you should consider a fall wedding. In fact, fall weddings are very romantic and beautiful. If you are planning your wedding and have not given much thought to having your wedding in the fall, consider some of this information and you may change your mind.
During the fall, the air is clean and crisp, not too cold, not too hot, but nice with just a slight chill. At this time of year, it seems as though everything is fresh and depending on where you live, the colors beautiful. New England for example is a rainbow of colors as the leaves change and blanket the ground with red, orange and yellow. Because of the natural beauty of the fall, this is truly the most amazing time to have a wedding.
This is the perfect time of year for an outdoor wedding, using the fall colors as the backdrop for your wedding. Some excellent places to consider would include:
- Local park
- Wine vineyard
- Apple orchard
- Bed and Breakfast
- Lake house
- Horse ranch
- Farm
- Cabin in the mountains
- Country Inn
For a stunning wedding, you can coordinate your wedding colors to blend with nature. Again, using reds, oranges, yellows, as well as greens, browns, rusts, and some deep purples, you can create a gorgeous array of colors for your wedding. If you have your wedding indoors, bring some of the outdoors inside. For example, instead of rose petals, the flower girl could drop burnt orange, bright yellow, and hot red leaves down the aisle. The flowers at the front of the church could be made from fall colors as well and even the bouquets could be made with natural tones using wildflowers or herbs.
Fall weddings should be cozy and comfortable. For instance, the traditional wedding cake could be frosted with chocolate icing and then decorated with beautiful wildflowers. For the guests, also serve homemade pumpkin pie, roast turkey and ham, apple cider, corn chowder, zucchini bread, and other fall favorites. The guests will absolutely love the reception and feel right at home.
Create beautiful centerpieces of copper and gold enhanced with the fall colors, which creates the perfect balance and a warm, inviting feel. You might even make the centerpieces from dried flowers and then use them as giveaways for some of the guests.
For party favors, you can be creative and make several different gifts that your guests can take with them. Perhaps you could create individual packets of hot-spiced cider, tied with a coordinating ribbon and instructions. Another great gift would be jars of homemade jelly and jam, again with a card attached with the bride and grooms name, wedding date, and flavor. Fall weddings are the perfect choice for bringing family and friends together for your special day.
