Every bride has her own sense of style, especially when it comes to the flowers that will be displayed for her wedding. Some brides prefer a traditional wedding, some something more chic, and other brides a fun and free-spirited wedding. When it comes to your special day, there is no right or wrong for flowers although there are recommendations to follow depending on the type of bride you are.
Classic Bride
The classic or traditional bride loves the wedding traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. Her style is sophisticated, graceful, and with clean lines. A few excellent choices in flowers for this bride are creamy Champagne-colored Roses with a few Gardenias mingled in for exquisite fragrance. To this bouquet, small, simple ribbons and a touch of greenery could be added. Another beautiful bouquet combination is luscious Lemon-colored Tulips with a spatter of Daffodils and White Stephanotis. The result is sheer elegance.
Diva Bride
The diva bride likes things elegant but chic, and perhaps just a little showy. Typically, bouquets would consist of vibrantly colored roses intermingled with soft creamy colored flowers for the perfect balance. This type of bride prefers flowers and ribbons that have an angular approach, providing just a slight edge to a beautiful arrangement. Often the diva bride chooses flowers that are coral or deep red. A typical bouquet would be created with Magenta Peonies, added with a soft touch of Belles of Ireland or Green Ladies.
Natural Bride
This type of bride is much what it sounds like. She prefers things elegant but simple and natural. For the natural bride, you would find sprays carried in the crook of the arm consisting of natural flowers such as Daffodils, Pink Tulips, Daisies, or Narcissus, gently wrapped with a simple ribbon or strings of wheat. Flowers are usually the types that you would find in the springtime, consisting of soft purples, faint yellows, and just a touch of greenery or Babys Breath.
Romantic Bride
This bride loves everything feminine and soft. She typically chooses pastel-colored flowers with sprigs of Babys Breath. Bouquets might consist of Purple Cosmos with a touch of Lilac, Pink Hydrangeas, or Violet Sweet Peas, wrapped softly in a silver or gold ribbon. Additionally, the bouquets are usually smaller than the standard bouquet size.
Hip Bride
The hip or modern bride loves flowers that are fun, vibrant, and exciting. This type of bride usually has a unique wedding that shows off her preferred free style. Some of the flowers you might find with this bride would include rich, Chocolate-colored Cosmos with a few Lavender Roses, wrapped with a softer colored ribbon. You might also find this bride carrying a bouquet of Burgundy Calla Lilies mixed with Raspberry Dahlias.
Fashion Plate Bride
The fashion or trendy bride looks like someone stepping out of the pages of a bridal magazine. Everything is the latest style and the entire wedding, down to the smallest detail, is immaculate. The fashion plate bride loves regal looking flowers that are colorful, and often, unique species that have multiple colors. You will see bouquets that are filled with Hibiscus, Daffodils, Honeysuckle Vine, Orchids, and other more expensive type flowers. While the bouquets will have beautiful colors, they are generally muted and sometimes only mixed in as an accent with creamy white flowers.
Regardless of which type of bride you are, choose flowers that best match your personality and the style of your wedding.
