One item that you will need to decide on is how to dress your bridesmaids for the ceremony and reception. As you are thinking about the types of bridemaid dresses, shoes, and accessories, there are several things to keep in mind. First there are the obvious things like match the color of the bridesmaid dresses to your overall color scheme. If your colors are red and green, you may want to choose one of these colors for the dresses or possibly even an accent color. The color of the dresses is one of the things that will be most visible during the course of the ceremony and helps to accentuate the building and the environment. You can also choose seasonal colors to match your decor.
Second, the style is also an important factor. Clearly an elegant sleevless style might be more appropriate for an evening wedding than a morning or early afternoon day. Moreover, you should pay attention to the time of year that you are having the event. If the event is going to be outside durin the summer in Phoenix Arizona, then you will want to select a thiner material and style so that your bridesmaids will be able to bear the heat. Most dresses come with shoes that match, you will also want to take these factors into consideration when you are selecting your shoes.
Third, unless you are paying for your bridesmaids dresses (most brides don't) you may want to be careful of the type and kind of dress you select. Some dresses are extremely expensive - if your bridesmaids are not able to afford the dresses, they may be somewhat hesitant to attend the wedding. Moreover, many bridesmaids dresses are often used one one time and then discarded. If at all possible, try to get a dresses that could be used at a later date. Unfortunately, this is not always possible. Try to select colors that can be worn again like navy or other dark colors if possible.
Fourth, when you are thinking of what to have your bridesmaids wear, be sure to think about the type of dress that will look good on them. For example, do not select a tall slender type of dresses if your bridesmaids are generally short and stocky. Moreover, try to plan for dresses that can be worn by a variety of body types if there are a variety of bods type represented in your wedding party. Also remember your bridesmaid will have a better time and will be better able to support you if they are comfortable with what they are wearing.
