Are you in the planning stage of your wedding and reception, and trying to make some hard decisions regarding the music? This can in fact be a difficult choice since there are so many different styles of music, different songs, and different people to please. Regardless of the type of wedding you are planning, you want things to be perfect, which include the music.
If you want to record your own music, many couples are going this route as a way to save money. In fact, if the sound system is decent where the ceremony is being held, pre-recorded music sounds very good. For the actual wedding ceremony, you can visit most book or music stores where you will find CDs for the Wedding March, Here Comes the Bride, Ave Maria, and other similar songs. Typically, these pre-recorded songs are professionally made and therefore have a nice sound. If you can only locate the song of choice on cassette, you might consider using a CD burner to record the song onto a CD for better clarity.
For receptions with a cocktail hour and dance floor, spice things up a bit by including a great variety of jazz. You can be sure after one Benny Goodman song people will be up on the dance floor regardless of age. Other artists that you should incorporate into your dance time would be Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Count Basie, and of course, the ever so famous Tommy Dorsey. For the younger crowd who enjoys some good old-fashioned Rock n Roll, great options would include Eric Clapton, ZZ Top, The Beatles, and Van Morrison.
Something that couples are also trying that is a huge hit is to include dance lessons at the reception. For example, set some time aside for Country Western music and have a dance instructor teach line dancing. You will get all ages involved and within a short time, everyone will be up having a great time two stepping and line dancing. Salsa is another option where you can have several Salsa instructors teach, your guests how to get sassy on the dance floor.
By making a few adjustments to your wedding and reception music, you can save money while still having professional music that everyone enjoys. Just keep your options open, allow yourself adequate time for planning, and have a blast! This is your special day and you want everyone to have the best time possible, which can be accomplished for a reasonable fee and by creating unique opportunities.
