Planning a wedding can be an ardous task that can involve a lot of people, significant time, and extensive resources. Clearly, it does pay to be organized in the wedding planning process and to understand exactly what needs to be done. This article is designed to provide some things to think about and to provide an overview of the areas that should receive attention during the planning process. The following paragraphs provide an overview and explaination of each of these areas.
Guests: One of the first things to think about is the number of guests that you will have at the wedding. This is an important consideration since it can determine the cost, venue, and many other considerations. There are also people that some of your family may want to invite while there are other people that may need to be left off the list. Creating a solid guest list can be hard and require compromise.
Invitations: The invitations are challenging since they need to be sent out 2 to 3 month ahead of time. That means you should try to select the invitations 6 months ahead of time and then get them prepared. The tricky part about invitations is the design and the wording of the invitation.
Ceremony: Another thing to think about is the ceremony. This includes the venue, the programs, the officiant, service order, and seating. It is good to meet with the officiant in advance and have someone that you can work well with. Some venues may require you to complete a class or counseling
Participants: The people that will participate in the wedding also have a big impact. Some participants to think about are the maid of honor, best man, bridesmaids, groomsmen, ushers, flowergirl, guestbook greeters, parents, grandparents, sisters, brothers, and musicians.
Reception Hall: The reception hall is an important thing to think about as well. Try to select a place that is relatively close to the ceremony location. Moreover, you should ask whether the reception venue has food services, is equipped to handle your number of guests, is available on the dates you are requesting, and how events typically work.
Cake: The cake does take a little planning since it serves dual purposes. It is a decoration, so it needs to look pretty and blend in with the existing decor and look great for pictures. It also needs to taste good since it doubles as a desert. These kind of cakes are not easy to make so Aunt Betty couldn't just whip one up. They can cost some money interms of materials and time.
Flowers: Flowers are important for the ceremony, the bride's bouquet, and for the reception. Flowers can be used to decorate the ceremony location and to make the location look good. In addition, flowers can be used to adorn the groomsmen's jackets or for centerpieces at the reception.
Photography: Photography is important for preserving the wedding event. You should spend some time selecting a photographer and determine what the photographer should do. If you have any set pictures that you want to take, you should tell him.
Food: The food at the reception can be crucial, especially if you are having a large wedding. It is very important to have the right amount of food and to have the food ready on time. In addition, the food needs to taste good and appeal to you and your guests. You can have the food catered or have it prepared by on site staff.
Other: There are other things to think about as well such as wedding decor, favors, bubbles, and the exit vehicle. There are also several other things that will come up in the course of planning, depending on the specifics of each wedding.
